Baptisms

God, who is rich in mercy and love, gives us a new birth into a living hope through the sacrament of baptism. By water and the Word, God delivers us from sin and death and raises us to new life in Jesus Christ. We are united with all the baptized in one body of Christ, anointed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and joined in God’s mission for the life of the world.

At Resurrection, we baptize people of any age, from infants to teens to adults. God claims us no matter our age or our place in life, and pours out grace and love upon us. In turn, the community of faith promises to accompany the newly baptized person in their walk of faith. Baptisms take place during Sunday services.

If you would like to learn more about baptism, our pastor would be glad to answer your questions. To set up a meeting, please call the church office.

Confirmation

Confirmation, or the affirmation of baptism, is an opportunity for a baptized person to make public profession of their faith.  At Resurrection, students in grades 6-8 take part in classes, service projects, worship, and fellowship as they dig deeper into their faith, ask questions, and build relationships. At the end of this intentional time, students may choose to make public profession of their faith.

Weddings

The joy of sharing our lives with others is uplifted in our Christian tradition, and marriage is a gift of God. Entering into this covenant with another is one significant way that two people may join their lives. Marriage is a relationship that requires much care and cultivation and is also intended to be a blessing for the greater community. Please give us a call if you are interested in meeting with our pastor and being married at Resurrection.

Funerals

While we grieve the loss of those we love, we also trust that they are welcomed into enteral life with God. At a funeral service, we gather to worship, proclaim the gospel, remember our loved one before God, give thanks for their life, commend them to our Redeemer, and to comfort one another in our grief.

If a loved one is dying, we encourage you to let us know so we can provide pastoral care for both the one who is dying and for their loved ones. Call the church office at the time of death, too, especially if you hope to plan a funeral or memorial service at Resurrection. Our pastor will contact you to begin to make arrangements.
