  • Yes. All financial information is encrypted and stored by Tithe.ly’s banking partner to PCI DSS Level 1 compliant standards. PCI DSS Level 1 compliance is a set of rules stated by credit card companies and audited by an independent third party. It is the highest possible rating one can get in the electronic payment processing industry. Additionally, Tithe.ly forces HTTPS for all transaction services using TLS.

  • Yes, as is the case with all online transactions but they are minimal. Tithe.ly has an agreement with the ELCA which lowers fees. When you give, you will be given the option to “cover fees” which is highly encouraged but not required. Additionally, using ACH/Bank to give rather than a credit card also has lower fees. American Express credit cards will have the highest fee.

  • Yes, simply select “recurring gift” when you give or set up later through an account on Tithe.ly

  • Yes. As soon as someone gives via Tithe.ly they instantly receive an email with the details of their transaction. All giving history for each member is also tracked and available within the Tithe.ly mobile app, giving you instant access to check their records.

  • It usually takes 2-3 days between the time you give and when it appears in your church's bank account. If you've given through ACH, it can take up to 10 days for the bank to process the charge.

  • Your personal data will never be sold, traded, or given out to third parties.

  • If you happen to make an accidental donation please reach out to the church you've given to directly to request a refund.

    Please Note: Refunds may take up to 7 business days to appear back in your account.

  • In order to change your auto recurring gift fund/designation, you will need to delete your existing recurring gift and then setup a new recurring gift.

  • If you already have an account with Tithe.ly and would like to change your payment information, you can do so from the Tithe.ly app or by logging into your account online and clicking on "Payment Methods" in the menu bar. You will need to delete your old form of payment and add a new one.
